The DOM cathedral where Pope Clements is buried.

The DOM cathedral where Pope Clements is buried.

Pope Clement II (100547) is buried in the Bamberg Cathedral. He was the local bishop before he became Pope in 1046, but he died in 1047 after having been pope for only twelve months. Bamberg Cathedral is the site of the only papal burial outside of Italy and France.

This is NOT the Dom. It is UP THE HILL from the DOM. I think it is called Saint Michaels

Inside the DOM. Very simple stone walls. St. Michaels has very fancy marble walls.

Restaurant Weierich
I highly recommend this restaurant that is in the OLD section of town.  It is a VERY short walk from City Hall.

A meal that consist of the VERY Bavarian dumpling called a Knoedel

Walk through the City Hall and follow the yellow line to the Restaurant Weierich  and then go up to the Dom Cathedral where the Pope is buried.
