This is the East of Bordeaux, France section of the website.

All of these UN- EDITED photos were take with a Google model Pixel - Android phone.

France won the soccer World Cup. This is a photo of the television in the hotel where we were staying. All of France is celebrating with horns blasting well into the night.
So in the photo #1 is Putin as the games were located in Russia, #2 is Macron the Prime Minister of France (I think his arm is around the team coach), #3 is the lady who is the head of government in Croatia (the country that was defeated in the final game).

''Les Plus Beaux Villages de France'' is an independent association for the promotion of the tourist appeal of small rural villages with a rich cultural heritage. The sign is posted to indicate that we are entering one such village.
Our trip to western France this final week is devoted to seeing a series of these designated places that are clustered about 75 miles east of Bordeaux.

We had lunch in Monpazier. The area I have outlined in red is what both Cynthia and I each had for lunch. It is pictured below.

Our pate lunch

The main church in Monpazier.

Back at our hotel where we also had pate as a dinner first course.

The view outside out hotel window in the town of Perigueux about 75 east of Bordeaux. The building is an old watch tower that is on top of an old section of the town wall that was preserved from hundreds of years ago.

While driving we passed many sun flower farms. Zillions of yellow sun flowers.

A very old church that we visited. Below is a photo of the interior.

The church interior

Another very old church that is over 600 year old.

You will notice the lack of stain-glass windows because of the very old age.

In the church was a very sad memorial about local towns people that died in the wars. In the First World War, there were three members of the same family that died. I have outlined them in the photo in a red rectangle. I assume that they were all in the same military unit.

We had lunch in the Village de Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, the restaurant roof is 100% greenery - vines.

In Turenne, France the church is over 1,000 years old

In Turenne, France at the church above, there is a memorial for soldiers killed in the First World War, and as we have seen in other small villages, three members of the same family died. I assume that they were probably all in the same military unit.

Another great lunch. Pate plus melon and tomato
